Five seats are open in the May 21 District 55 School Board election scheduled for May 21.
Expiring positions include #1 Holley, held by Chanz Keeney; #2 Liberty, Jenny Daniels; #5 At Large, Jan Sharp; #7, Chairman Jason Redick; and #8 Sweet Home, Dale Keene. Winners will serve four-year terms.
Candidates must file by 5 p.m. on March 21 with a fee of $10 or by petition, which requires 25 signatures from registered voters.
The district recommends filing at least a week ahead of time to ensure that paperwork is in order and signatures are valid.
Paperwork may be delivered in person or mailed to County Elections Supervisor, Linn County Courthouse, PO Box 100, Albany, OR 97321.
