Foster Dam-area roads to be closed for Sept. 14 run

The City of Sweet Home Youth Advisory Council is sponsoring the fourth annual 5K Run across Foster Dam on Saturday, Sept. 14. In order to conduct the event safely, there will be temporary road closures from 8 to 11 a.m.

The closures are as follows: 60th Avenue north from Hwy 20 to Foster Dam Road, Foster Dam Road from 60th Avenue north to North River Drive, 53rd Avenue at Spruce Street north, including access to Wiley Creek, Poplar Street at 59th Avenue and east to Foster Dam Road.

Local access for residents and emergency vehicles will be allowed. For questions regarding the event and road closures, contact the City of Sweet Home at (541) 367-8969.

Registration for the Dam Run/Walk, with an optional 2K Walk and a Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run, is available online at GetMeRegistered.com or at City Hall or at http://www.ci.sweet-home.or.us

Proceeds from this year will benefit the Sweet Home Walk for the Cause

Group, a partner of Soroptimist of Albany, supporting programs and

services focusing on prevention, detection and treatment of breast

cancer in Linn County.

This event will also take the place of this year’s Sweet Home Satellite

Walk for the Cause event that is usually held at the Sweet Home Harvest

Festival in October.
