Foundation grants avaiable

The Sweet Home Community Foundation will begin its annual grant cycle on Dec. 1.

The foundation’s goal is to provide funding to a wide variety of projects and activities that provide lasting improvements to the community. Grants are given in the following categories: Children and Families, Education, Livability, and Arts and Culture.

Grants are available in amounts up to $2,500. Grant application packets are available by calling 367-8969, via email at [email protected] or in person at the Sweet Home Economic Group office, 1331 Main Street or Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce, 1575 Main Street, Sweet Home, OR.

Grant recipients must be a 501(c) 3 or other qualified tax-exempt organization, or the proposed project must be implemented in affiliation with such an organization.

Over the last five years the foundation has continued to make annual contributions to the long-term Sweet Home Community Endowment and, in addition, has funded $100,000 in community projects via this grant program.

Support to the foundation is provided through local individuals and through funds provided by the Sweet Home Economic Group and The Oregon Jamboree.

Completed applications must be returned to the Sweet Home Community Foundation, P.O. Box 24, Sweet Home, OR, 97386, by 5 p.m. on January 15, 2009. Grant award recipients will be announced in March.
