Four injured, one cited in N. River crash

Four persons were injured in a single-car accident on July 9 on North River Road.

The driver, Jeremy Ferebee, 24, of Albany was cited with driving under the influence of intoxicants, Sheriff Dave Burright said. Further charges are pending.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. just east of the South Santiam Fish Hatchery. Ferebee was driving a white 1991 Chevrolet Lumina east on North River Road. After rounding a curve, his vehicle struck a guardrail and turned across the road head on into a tree.

Ferebee had three passengers, J.B. McCoy, 25, of Sweet Home; Thomas Nunn, 23, of Albany; and Myra Nunn, 18, of Albany.

Ferebee and McCoy were transported by Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District to Albany General hospital. The Nunns were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.

“It appeared to be very serious injuries,” Sheriff Burright said. “We suspect that alcohol and high speed were a factor in this crash.”
