Frances Roberta Templeton, 84, of Sweet Home died Dec. 10, 2010.
She was born March 1, 1926 in Little Fork, Minn. to John Francis and Lois Stewart (Griffith) Gordon.
Her family moved to Missouri in 1928 and then to Sweet Home in 1933. She lived and worked in Portland’s shipyards as a welder in 1943. She was a custodian at Sweet Home Junior High School in the 1970s.
Mrs. Templeton was an avid gardener. She could make anything grow and loved meeting her friends for coffee at McDonalds to discuss how the world should turn. She loved to read, recite and write poetry.
She believed in God and loved her family. She had a great sense of humor, loved life and loved to laugh and make others laugh.
Mrs. Templeton is survived by her husband, Dwight Templeton; son Virgil and daughter-in-law Laurie Zook, daughter Debra and son-in-law Richard Bowler, son Vernon Zook, and daughter Lisa and son-in-law Terry Macklin; stepchildren Gordon and Diane Templeton, Lois and Paul Folz, and Lesli and Doug Lampe; sister Ada and brother-in-law Tony Dexheimer; sister-in-law Pearl Marie Wheeler; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Saundra, in 1968; sister Claudia in 1948; step-sister Olive; and her parents.
