Local musicians gathered weekly in 1951 to work up repertoire under the direction of Dan Keefe, new Union High School band director. The summer band, composed of high school students and some adults, will be a feature in the Frontier Days celebration. Here, a five-man drum section provides rhythmic background to a spirit march.
