The Sweet Home Rodeo may soon have a new home. City Council decided to put the current rodeo grounds, located on 49th Avenue, on the market. The Chamber of Commerce is in the final stages of securing a new location for the rodeo which runs as part of Sportsman’s Holiday. The chamber began seeking a new location for the rodeo in 1996 after they and City Council learned the rodeo conflicted with other uses in the area. The chamber needs the city to be involved in three particular parts of the move, including access for parking and emergency vehicles, installing laterals and a meter to the property, and provision of electricity. An estimated $10-15,000 in assistance would be necessary.
