An election which would establish district boundaries and elect a board of directors for the proposed Linn-Benton Community College will be held this Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at various places in the proposed district.
The area is divided into seven zones, with one board member representing each zone and to take office if the district is formed. Zone 1 is all of the Sweet Home School District.
Candidate Dan Ashton, a semi-retired farmer, has three grown children and resides in the Fern Ridge area just out of Sweet Home.
Building and financial details of the proposed new city library were reveald by Loyal C. Lang, architect of the proposed building and by Lawrence Soloman of the State Library Board.

Cascadia residents met Friday with State Sen. Mae Yih and representatives from several government agencies in their continuing effort to have Cascadia State Park Bridge reopened.
The meeting lasted nearly an hour and those present discussed three options to get the bridge opened. Since the bridge was closed three weeks ago, park traffic has been routed off Hwy. 20, across the Short Covered Bridge and past a small group of residences on Cascadia Drive.
A local resident is being hailed as a hero by the Sweet Home Fire Department after rescuing a neighbor from his burning duplex.
James Miller, 908 Cedar, reportedly pulled Terry Hugley, 40, from the blaze, which destroyed the residence at 906 Cedar.
