Two Sweet Home youths were arrested this week and charged with taking a city parking meter, according to police reports.
The youths had taken a parking meter, which had broken loose from the sidewalk in front of Cardwell’s Department Store (currently The New Era office).
Chief of Police Roy Clover said the two had planned to use it as a “room decoration.”

Local residents have been working with state and county officials in an effort to have the Bohemian Hall (Richardson Gap Bridge) reconstructed at the park entrance to Cascadia Park.
The State Parks Department announced last week that the bridge would be closed indefinitely.
