Genevieve Partridge

Genevieve Ethel (Shilts) Partridge, 77, of Albany died July 17, 2009. She was born June 20, 1932 in Silverton to Henry and Sylvia (Heinz) Shilts.

She grew up in Scotts Mills, attending grade school and Molalla High School there. At the age of 16, on June 27, 1948, she married Milton Partridge in Scotts Mills. They lived in many places including Scotts Mills, Sweet Home, Salem, Idaho and Hermiston while Milton was in the military, working mill jobs and as a correctional guard, moving to Albany in 2006.

In 1949 their only child Karin was born. They later took in Lissea and Mary Logue as foster daughters.

Mrs. Partridge loved the ocean, her many pets and her family. She especially loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always helping someone. Her grandchildren describe her as the true definition of unconditional love.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Milton of Albany; her brother Wayne and sister-in-law Peggy Shilts of Sweet Home; foster daughter Lissea and her husband Jack Clapp of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 20 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church.
