Gilbert George Guzman Sr., 65, of Sweet Home, died July 13, 2013.
He was born Aug. 11, 1947 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Severo and Esther (Alcala) Guzman.
Mr. Guzman moved to Sweet Home in 1980. He attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church and volunteered at SHEM. He loved working on cars, going to garage sales, finding things broken and fixing them up, taking long drives in the country and just smelling the roses.
Mr. Guzman is survived by his daughters, Teresa Blaylock and Bernadette Montes; son Gilbert Guzman, Jr.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Victor Guzman.
The public is welcome to a memorial Mass at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 39043 Jordan Road, Scio.
