Ginger Manning

Jan. 15, 1960 – Nov. 21, 2017

Ginger (Dimick) Manning, 57, of Battle Mountain, Nev., passed away Nov. 21, 2017.

She was born Jan. 15, 1960 in Lebanon, the daughter of Wiley (Shorty) Dimick and Betty Engen Dimick.

She grew up in Sweet Home and later moved to Missoula, Mont., where she married John Franklin Hendrix II and had two children, son John Franklin Hendrix III and daughter Jacinda Hendrix. She and John divorced.

She later met and married the love of her life, Carl (Chico) Manning. They both worked for Valentine Surfacing Company, Ginger as Operating Engineer Local 3 for many years. Their work took them to Battle Mountain, Nev., where they settled.

She loved the Blackfoot River, where she and her husband would go rafting and fishing. She enjoyed the evenings by the fire pit with family and friends. She cherished her massive bear and Budweiser collections.

Ginger was loving, caring – and feisty at times – and would do anything to help someone. She loved to cook for everyone and made sure no one would go home hungry. Her infectious laugh will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Carl (Chico) Manning; son John (Frank) Hendrix; daughter Jacinda Hendrix of Missoula, Mont.; father Wiley (Shorty) Dimick of Sweet Home; brothers Joe Dimick, Scott and sister-in-law Lisa Dimick, and Tony Dimick, all of Sweet Home; sisters Karen Dimick-Van Epps and brother-in-law Dave Van Epps of Sweet Home, and Kim Dimick of Yuma, Ariz; grandchildren Deiondre Davis and Keyera Davis of Missoula, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Dimick, and brothers Michael and Jeffery Dimick.

At her request there will be no memorial service. A celebration of life will be held at a later time with immediate family, when her wishes can be fulfilled.
