The Huskies ran into two of the toughest teams in the state last week in girls basketball, falling to top-ranked Philomath 64-20 Jan. 14 and eighth-ranked Stayton 76-33 Friday on the road.
In both games, Sweet Home’s opponents had much more experience playing together, said Coach Michelle Knight.
Philomath quickly dominated the game, leading 26-3 after a quarter and 40-9 at halftime. The Warriors extended their lead to 54-15 in the third quarter.
