The Sweet Home girls golf team finished fifth in the two-day district tournament held at Santiam Golf Club in Stayton.
“The girls played well and improved their scores from the first time we played the course,” Coach Jason Gorham said.
Tournament medalist was Krista Pagano of Sisters who shot a 96-91-187.
Sisters won the team title with a two-day total of 832, followed by Molalla, 873, Stayton, 965, Cascade, 1062, Sweet Home, 1,091 and Kennedy, 1,174.
Sweet Home was led by Chelsea Gagner who fired a 122-124-246, to finish 14th and earned all-league honorable mention honors.
Oakley Tyler finished with a 132-134-266 and Abby Knight went 142-137-279.
Four players combined for the Huskies’ other scores. Ashley Rice and Lisa Weins shot 140 and 143 respectively on the first day and Kymi Howe and Samantha Lambert shot 160 and 176 on the second day.
“Overall, this was a very positive season,” Coach Gorham said. “The girls improved a great deal. We played four sophomores and two freshmen at district so our team is very young. We hope to build on these experiences and come back stronger next year.”
