The Husky girls basketball team lost three relatively close games in the annual Junction City Tournament held Dec. 19-21.
Their biggest loss was to Creswell 51-42 to start the tournament.
Creswell led 12-8 after the first quarter and 27-16 at halftime. The Huskies narrowed the lead by one in the third quarter to 40-30 and outscored Creswell 12-11 in the fourth.
Kendra Greene and Teresa Lewis led scoring with 14 points each. Lei Himan-Teves added six, and Chelsea Hackworth added four.
C. Winslow led Creswell with 20 points. C. Bates added 13.
In their second game, the Huskies lost 48-45 in overtime to Oakland.
The Huskies led 12-11 in the first quarter and were tied 23-23 at halftime. Oakland led 36-31 after three but tied the Huskies 39-39 to end the fourth. Oakland outscored the Huskies 9-6 in overtime to win the game.
Greene led the Huskies in scoring with 14 points. Lewis added 13; Rachel Gaskey, 11; and Himan-Teves, six.
K. Wolford led Oakland with 15 points.
Cottage Grove defeated the Huskies 43-39 in the third game.
Sweet Home led 14-8 by the end of the first quarter and 22-19 at halftime. Cottage Grove closed the gap by one point in the third quarter to trail 30-28 and ended the game with a 15-7 run in the fourth quarter.
Lewis led the Huskies with 15 points. Greene added 11; Gaskey, six; Himan-Teves, four; Hackworth, two; and Jenna Anderson, one.
