The Husky girls fell 61-45 to Stayton Feb. 11 in basketball.
“I thought we played really well,” said Coach Michelle Knight. “Stayton’s a really good team, and I felt like we competed well the whole game. I thought we played four good quarters of basketball.”
The visiting Eagles led 19-10 after first quarter and 37-25 at halftime, before pulling away to lead 51-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
Brooke Burke led Sweet Home scoring with 15 points. Becky Belcher added nine points with nine rebounds.
Adaira Burger pulled down 11 rebounds and scored four. Natalie Rodgers collected five assists and scored six.
Overall the Huskies turned the ball over just eight times, while Stayton had 10 turnovers.
K.J. Nyquist led Stayton with 23 points.
Sweet Home, 1-8, was scheduled to face Cascade, 7-2, Tuesday at home.
They will host Sisters, 0-10, at 7 p.m. Friday and travel to Newport at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
