Sweet Home girls soccer lost a pair of matches against conference opponents last week, losing at home against Cascade 8-0 on Tuesday and then on the road against Newport 8-0 on Thursday.

The losses have moved the Huskies to 1-6. Cascade is 4-2, while Newport is 3-3-1.

Head Coach Ramiro Santana said the Huskies have had a few players hurt and he’s hoping to get them back playing.

In practice the team has been working on passing, trapping and communication, “simple things,” in Santana’s words.

This week Sweet Home will host Philomath (5-2, No. 8) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. They then play North Marion (5-2, No. 4) away at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 5.
