Sweet Home girls soccer lost 8-0 at North Marion on Oct. 25 in their final game. The Huskies finished the season 2-10-2, fifth out of six teams in the Oregon West Conference.
The game was called 15 minutes into the second half, when North Marion went up 8-0. The “other Huskies” put up six goals in the first half and two in the second.
“We played as best as we could, and the girls had fun,” said Head Coach Ramiro Santana. “At this point, that’s all that we care about.”
Both teams had to deal with some inclement weather. Santana said it was the first time his girls had played in the rain in a game all season.
League-leading North Marion improved to 10-2-1 on the season.
Sweet Home’s two wins and ties marked an improvement from last year’s team, which finished 1-12-1.
