Alyshia Benzo was named high school girls water polo most valuable player at the annual awards dessert held on Nov. 9. She also was named first-team all-league.
Justine Calhoon was named team MVP for state, and Laura Gourley was named rookie of the year and team MVP for districts. Faith Helfrich was named most inspirational. NoraJean Lemar was named most improved. Nichole Martin was named first-team all-league.
Receiving first-year letters were sophomores Faith Helfrich, Katie Kinney, NoraJean Lemar and Karen Swift and junior Laura Gourley. Second-year letters went to juniors Justine Calhoon, Tee Whaley and Alice Davis. Senior Nichole Martin received her third-year letter, and senior Alyshia Benzo received her fourth water polo letter.
