The Huskies girls’ summer basketball team won three of six games last week.
The Huskies beat the Lebanon JV 54-44 and then finished a tournament at South Albany 2-3.
“We had an opportunity to be 3-2, but we’re still learning how to win,” said Coach Robby Robinson. The Huskies defeated Woodburn and East Linn. They lost a close one to the Corvallis JV.
“I think if we knew how to win, we would have won,” Robinson said. “It was really competitive, and we had opportunities.”
The Huskies lost to South Salem and West Salem 6A JV teams.
“We’re not satisfied,” Robinson said. “We’re going to keep working hard at it, but we’re starting to believe we have a chance.”
The Huskies are at a team camp at Oregon State University through Thursday with six girls from last year’s JV squad.
They played a full game, with just six girls, against a California team Monday evening, Robinson said. “They schooled us. As long as I’ve got five, we’re going to play.”
