Now my daddy always told me
There is a fool born every minute
But I didn’t know that politics
Had so many of them in it.
They will promise you anything
Just to get your vote
So there isn’t any life style
They won’t endorse or promote
Any program that they give
Comes with a lot of control
And stars the federal government
In the controlling leading role
If you live on tax subsidy
You will always live in fear
Because you will never know what
They’ll take away next year.
Cause my daddy also told me
And it’s just as true today
That anything that they can give you
They can also take away.
