Gladys Arnold

Gladys H. (Motley) Arnold, 92, of Medway, Mass., died Jan. 29, 2007 at the Harrington House in Walpole, Mass.

She was the wife of Willard O. Arnold who died in 1966.

Mrs. Arnold was born in Marshfield on Aug. 12, 1914, the daughter of the late John W. and Ermine (Shrewsbury) Motley. She resided in Sweet Home and graduated from high school in Albany.

A homemaker since her daughter was born, she had owned a gas station in Sweet Home for many years with her late husband. She had also worked at the post office in Corvallis. She was a member of the Non-Deno-minational Church.

She vol-unteered for the Red Cross blood drives in Sweet Home and also volunteered registering voters during elections. She loved to needlepoint and enjoyed crocheting and was a beautiful seamstress. An avid gardener, she was well known for her beautiful red geraniums.

She lived in Medway for the past nine years.

She is survived by her daughter, Siri Krishna Khalsa, formerly known as Willa Arnold, of Medway and two sisters, Dorris Bower of Hillsboro and Mary Johnson of Tukwila, Wash., and two grandchildren.

She was a sister of the late Evelyn Johnson and Virginia Lund.

Funeral services are private at the request of her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Medway Friends of Elders, 76 Oakland St., Medway, MA 02053.
