Glenna Allen

Dec. 16, 1927 – Feb. 19, 2013

Glenna Maxine Allen, 85, of Sweet Home died Feb. 19, 2013 at Evergreen Hospice.

She was born Dec. 16, 1927 in Little Rock, Ark. to Arthur and Lula (McNease) Dye.

She shared over 40 years of marriage with Elbert Allen. They moved to Medford and eventually retired in Lakeside. After surviving her husband she moved to Sweet Home to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Allen was a talented seamstress who also loved to quilt, bake, and was a deaconess in the Church of Christ. Reading was a hobby and she loved to study her Bible. She contributed her time to the Senior Center and the TOPS Club. When she wasn’t contributing her time and talent, she was pouring her heart into her loved ones.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, Joe Allen of Sherwood; daughters Barbara Cole of Oregon City and Diane Wilkie of Sweet Home; sister Sammie Lou of Snelling, Calif.; brother Max of Strathmore, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six nieces; and her dearest friends.

Her life will be celebrated in a private service.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
