Golfers break 400, head to Mallard Creek

Sweet Home’s golfers finished with a team score of 392 in a tournament at Quail Run in Molalla Monday.

Coach Ken Anderson said the Huskies were led by Stephen Bishop, who shot 92. Michael Tolle finished with 101, followed by Austin Yoder (104), Casey Horner (107), Brenner Roberts (111) and Christian Porter (118).

Junction City won the five-team event, but Anderson didn’t have their score.

At Arrowhead on Thursday, April 19, the Huskies again were led by Bishop, who shot 94, finishing sixth out of eight teams.

“We’re real young,” said Anderson, who is in his first year coaching the Huskies. “One of the things we’ve been doing this year is we’ve had to take a lot of replacement players. That’s really been good for us because it gives us experience. Players who normally are on the JV get to play at a higher level of competition.”

Sweet Home will play at home Wednesday, April 25, at Mallard Creek.
