Good News Club prompts memories

I was thrilled to read in The New Era (Sept. 24) that Yvonne Goode was starting a Good News Club at Hawthorne School on Tuesday afternoons. Yvonne is an excellent retired teacher from Sweet Home School District.

Many years ago a Foster care-giving grandmother told me she could always tell when it was Good News Club at school because the children came home happy and were singing their songs. We teach Jesus will forgive any bad we have done if we ask and if we believe in Jesus as our Savior.

These volunteer teachers donate their time and buy their own supplies. I just want to thank the many who come to mind that have helped through the years: Gayle, Leora, Arda, Iris, Bev, Bonnie, Millie, Helen, Ethel, Sandy, Jodi, Faye, Cindy and many helpers. Even if I have forgotten you, the Lord hasn’t.

May the Lord bless you all.
