Grant teaches youths with Steward program

LOCAL YOUTHS learn map and compass skills as part of the STEWARDS program through the South Santiam Watershed Council, funded in part by a $2,480 grant from the Sweet Home Community Foundation. The grant money helped purchase supplies used for summer programs promoting getting kids and their families out into the forests to help youths and their families to appreciate, enjoy and steward the forest around them by learning. A Kids and Families Summer Camp was held, along with two separate backpacking trips into the forest.
