Halloween, harvest celebration events planned for SH, beyond

Here are some Halloween or harvest festival-type events that have been announced in the community:

Family-friendly haunted house: Local insurance agent Jamie Erickson is hosting a family-friendly haunted house from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 1048 26th Court.

This may not be a stress-free experience. The event will include loud noises, jump scares, flashing lights and more. Also, anyone who currently or recently has experienced a fever or flu-like symptoms is asked not to participate.

There will be candy.

Trunk or Treat: Community Chapel will hold its annual Trunk or Treat celebration from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 42250 Ames Creek Road.

Participants will have chances to win drawings and prizes.

Candy Cruise-Thru: Hope Church will hold a no-contact drive-through candy distribution from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 890 Mountain View Road.

Pumpkin Patch Tennessee Thunder Railroad is selling pumpkins, cornstalks and glass gem corn. Also offering train rides and fall themed photo backdrops. Open from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at 37672 KGAL Drive. Prices are $6 for ages 12 and over, $5 for children, and free for kids under 2.

Runaway Pumpkin Express Santiam Excursion Train hosts a kids costume contest and train ride from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

Meet at the Santiam Travel Station, 750 S. 3rd St. in Lebanon. There will be a movie station, popcorn and treats, and refreshments from the bar. Tickets are $25-30; purchase online at santiam-excursion-trains.ticketleap.com/runaway-pumpkin-express2020/

Haunted Houses/Mazes: Monteith House, Albany. Morningstar Grange, Albany. The Melon Shack, Corvallis. 6363 Sedona Road, Albany (Oct. 30-31). Nightmare Factory, Salem.

Oct. 31: Boozy Express Santiam Excursion Train hosts an adult-only costume contest and train ride from 6 to 8 p.m. Meet at the train station, 750 S. 3rd St. Must be at least 21 years old.
