Harold C. Alton, 79, of Sweet Home died Dec. 22, 2006 in Lebanon.
Mr. Alton was born Nov. 4, 1927 in Cornelius, the son of Cyrus and Alta (Marple) Alton.
He graduated from Hillsboro High School, then served in the Air Force for four years. He lived most of his life in the Hillsboro area, where he worked as a carpenter in commercial construction throughout his career.
He retired in 1981. He lived in Seaside for several years and had lived in Sweet Home for the past month.
Mr. Alton enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a member of the American Legion in Seaside and the Eagles Lodge in Cornelius.
He was married to Rosa who preceded him in death in 1994. He later married Barbara “Joy” Roe in 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Joy” Alton of Sweet Home; daughters, Brenda Thurman, Evelyn Alton and Marple Alton of Beaverton; sons, Harold “Skip” Alton of Hillsboro and Charles “Rusty” Alton of Florida; one sister, numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
At his request no formal service will be held. Interment will be in the Skyline Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Portland. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is in care of final arrangements.
