Harold K. Hanson, 77, of Sweet Home, died Oct. 29, 2007 at a Corvallis hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1930 in Brunswick, Minn., son of August and Lydia Nordgren Hanson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Suzanne Schroeder Feb. 14, 1962 in Portland. In 1988 he moved to Sweet Home from Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Hanson worked as a cook most of his life. With his wife he had a company called Happy Travelers, a tour company catering to seniors on different traveling excursions. He enjoyed playing the accordion, was involved in his church and the Wiley Creek Community. He enjoyed bingo and was an avid football fan. He was a member of Highway 20 Church of Christ.
Mr. Hanson is survived by two step-sons, Terry Lewison and Daniel Schroeder, both of Sweet Home; a step-daughter, Marie Goss of Albany; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne.
A memorial service was held Nov. 3 at Wiley Creek Community Lodge, with private inurnment at Gilliland Cemetery, Sweet Home.
