Harry Tisue Smith III, 72, of Foster died July 12, 2015.
He was born Sept. 23, 1942 in San Diego, Calif. to Harry Tisue Jr. and Ruby Belle (Williams) Smith.
Mr. Smith entered the United States Coast Guard in Tacoma, Wash. and served for 25 years.
He married Sylvia Zastrow Dec. 12, 1963 in Seattle; they have lived in Foster since 1992.
Mr. Smith was a member of the VFW 3437 in Sweet Home, AMVET Post 13, American Legion Post 10 in Lebanon, Masonic Lodge (F&AM Lodge 202) of Sweet Home and the Shriners.
He enjoyed reading science fiction, and listening to classical and ’50s music.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sylvia R. Smith of Foster; sons Eric Smith of Kansas, Cameron Saint George of Portland, and Carl Smith of Australia; brother “Jack” John Arthur Smith of Florida; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith’s dog Tigger died four hours after he did.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Sweet Home VFW Hall.
