Harvey Irving Castle

Harvey Irving Castle, 77, of Lebanon passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born June 17, 1947, to Melvin O. and Esther M. (Wigle) Castle in Corvallis.
Harvey was drafted and served in the US Army 1966-1968 during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as an E5 with GCMDL and NDSM honors. While he was in the Army, he was stationed in Germany for two years.
Harvey grew up in Philomath. He also lived in Corvallis, Albany, Sweet Home and finally settled in Lebanon. He had two other, Linda and Gerry Castle.
Harvey was a member of the Albany Jaycees and Timber Carnival. He also was a past member of the American Legion in Albany. When he was 14, he started logging with his father. After being discharged from the Army and returning to Oregon, he attended Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) and received his Associates in Auto Mechanics. He worked for Fairview, owned a bookstore (Castle Books) in Albany and later was a long-distance truck driver
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his step-children: Nicole Piper, Scarlett Guerra (Salem), Keri Randklev (Portland), Kristina Wallsten (Oregon City). He has two grandchildren, Anthony Brandt and Mabel Wallsten.
