Hazel I. Sutter, 92, of Sweet Home, died Sept. 1, 2006 at Twin Oaks Rehab. She was born in West Port to Charles and Lena (Lydvikson) Heim.
She married Jake Sutter in West Port. He worked in the mill there until it closed. He later found work in Lebanon and later Sweet Home. Mrs. Sutter always found work in whatever town her husband’s job took them. While in Lebanon and Sweet Home she worked at Gilberts and Groves, and later at White’s Electronics, retiring in her 70s.
Mr. Sutter died in 1961.
Mrs. Sutter has been a member of the Sweet Home United Methodist church since 1947. She was very active and close to her church family.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Young, and brother, Charles A. “Sunny” Heim.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the United Methodist Church in Sweet Home. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
