Hazel Rosalie (Meacham) Slater, 87, died at her home in Baker City on April 11, 2011.
She was born on March 30, 1924 in Hoquiam, Wash. to Rose and Hugh Meacham.
She spent part of her youth growing up in logging camps at Mowich and Chiloquin, Oregon.
She married the love of her life, Roy Slater, on July 2, 1947 in Sweet Home.
Mrs. Slater loved her family and friends and enjoyed doing things for others. She was a natural artist and enjoyed telling stories. Her hobbies included music, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and reading. She loved the outdoors and spent as much time as she could in outdoor activities.
Mrs. Slater is survived by her two sons, Steve Slater and daughter-in-law Karen of Prineville, and Rick Slater and daughter-in-law Diane of La Pine; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy.
