Helen Kirkham Norquist, 97, of Eugene and formerly of Sweet Home died on Dec. 30, 2007.
She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 13, 1910. She was the daughter of Roy and Nancy (Drain) David.
During World War II, she was a flagger for the highway department. Later, she was a gatekeeper at Waldo Lake. Most of her life, though, she was a cook in restaurants.
She married Leo Eldon Kirkham in the early 1940s in Reno, Nev. He died in 1969. She married Harold Norquist in 1970. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Jack Kirkham of Eugene, Wayne Norquist of Sweet Home and Gary Norquist of California; brothers, Paul Adams of Pocatello, Idaho, Elvin Adams of Nampa, Idaho, and Carl Adams of Elk City, Calif.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Jan. 5 at Glenwood Christian Church in Eugene. She was buried at Pilot Butte Cemetery in Bend.
