Helen Turner, 78, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 29, 2010. She was born May 24, 1932 in Broken Bow, Okla. to Sida W. and Myrtle V. (Martin) Bobo.
She married Calvin Turner on May 23, 1950 in DeQueen, Ark. She lived in Broken Bow until they moved to Sweet Home in 1952.
Mrs. Turner worked at White’s Electronics, Stayton Cannery and Sweet Home School District. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting and fishing. She loved to play games.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Turner of Sweet Home; three daughters, Brenda Benham of Eugene, Sandra Heuer of Lafayette and Terry Hughes of Salem; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audra Tollett.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Brannon on Feb. 15, 1993.
A memorial service is planned for 11a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at First Baptist Church, 211 East Vine St., Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Turner’s name to First Baptist Church, 211 East Vine St., Lebanon, OR, 97355; to the American Lung Association; or American Cancer Research.
