Help The New Era locate best holiday lights

It’s back…

The New Era is once again holding its Christmas lighting display contest this year, due in part to reader requests.

Here’s how it works: Tell us where to find the most impressive holiday display lights, characters, music, dancing, etc. in your neighborhood or elsewhere and you’ll get a chance to win a year’s subscription to The New Era in a drawing.

Not only that, the family whose display is judged the most spectacular (by judges to be designated by us) will receive a year’s subscription as well.

Plus, we’ll photograph the winner, plus a few others that were particularly spectacular.

You can recommend as many displays as you like, as many times as you like, but multiple submissions do not increase your chance to win as a “tipster.” Once we have your name and number, you’re entered.

We will list the displays you recommend in our Dec. 19 edition, so anyone wishing to view them will be able to know where to go.

The scope of this contest is the Sweet Home School District boundaries and entries need to be able to be seen from the street.

Here’s how you play: E-mail us at [email protected] and tell us the address(es) that you are recommending. Give us your name and phone number and your name will be entered into the drawing, with the winner receiving a year’s subscription (your name won’t be published unless you win and the number is only to contact you).

If you don’t have e-mail, call us at (541) 367-2135 and give us the information requested above.

Deadline is Friday, Dec. 14, at 5 p.m.

Our judges will select the Best Display winner based on their own subjective criteria. We’ll report both the tip-off winner and the display winner when we list the hot locations in the Dec. 19 paper.
