Herbert E. “Bud” Davey, 88, of Sweet Home died on Monday, April 20, 2009.
He was born Jan. 9, 1921 in Aspen, Colo. to Herbert D. and Ella Mae (Larsen) Davey.
Mr. Davey was honorably discharged from the Army in 1946. He lived in Anchorage, Alaska, in Polson, Mont., and in Sweet Home. He retired from the Civil Service at Elmendorf Air Force Base, where he served as a foreman of roads and grounds.
He was active in the Episcopal Church in Anchorage, Polson and Sweet Home. Most recently, he was a member of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church. He was a gifted jewelry designer, rock hound and wood carver.
Mr. Davey is survived by his children, Ella, Patty, Mark, Bob, Virginia, Tom and their spouses; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty.
Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Evergreen Hospice of Albany, Fir Lawn Lutheran of Sweet Home, or Christ Church Episcopal of Anchorage, Alaska.
A memorial service was held April 24 at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church.
