The first “Sports Night Volleyball Tournament” will be held on November 23 at the Sweet Home High School gym.
This event is scheduled to be an annual fund raising event for the athletic program at the high school with all proceeds benefiting the athletic programs.
The tournament is co-ed and will be divided into two divisions, “The Power Division” (those with a fairly high skill level) and “The Fun Division” (those with average skills).
T-Shirts and bragging rights will go to the winners of each division.
This is a co-ed tournament for all ages and abilities (Please no one under seventh grade).
We encourage families to get involved in this fun evening. Rally scoring to 15 points will determine the winner of each game. At any given time, a team must have at least two males and two females on the court. You may play a maximum of six players at one time with additional players rotating in on regular intervals. A winner of a match must win two out of three games.
The cost to play is $10 per person. Inappropriate behavior, inappropriate celebrating, too serious of play, or arguing over calls will result in a $5 fine. This is a fun tournament that we hope becomes an annual event in our community.
This year the funds will be used to help pay for new pole vault mats. The athletes and coaches would like to thank all participants for their support.
The tournament begins at 7 p.m. and should end by 10 p.m.
Both divisions are limited to the number of teams (6 to 8 members on a team), so get your friends and or family together and register with Steve Emmert at the high school (367-7196) or Larry Horton at the district office (367-7126) no later than November 16.
