Highway 20 to close for slide repairs

The New Era

Highway 20 will be closed for three days in early September to allow for slide repairs in the area between House Rock Campground and Sheep Creek, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced Monday.

The road will be closed from 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10.

The closure is necessary to install two culverts under the highway, between House Rock Campground and Sheep Creek, ODOT said.

There will be no through traffic on U.S. 20 between Sweet Home and Santiam Junction/Sisters during the three-day closure.

Starting Monday, Aug. 23, through Sept. 7, there will be single-lane closures with flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The travel lane will be 15 feet wide. There will be no work or lane closures at night, on weekends or on Labor Day.
