Participants survey the merchandise Friday evening, May 6, at the Holley School PTC Auction held this year at the Elks Lodge. Organizer Mindy Perry said the event raised “somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000,” which will be used for field trips, new playground equipment and various classroom needs. The PTC recently bought Chromebook laptops and educational software for students to use in classrooms. Perry said she thought the attendance was about equal to last year’s auction, held at the high school – between 150 and 200 people. The Elks provided a barbecue dinner. Items for sale included overnight stays, wine tours, gravel, wood chips and firewood, tickets to various entertainment events, many plants, and much more.
