Homeless shelter needs your time

Editor:

SHELTeR is a group of people in Sweet Home who occasionally give five hours of their nights to bring a bit of comfort, a little hope and possibly save a life.  SHELTeR  stands for Sweet Home Extreme Low Temperature Refuge.

In partnership with SHEM and both church and non-church volunteers we provide a safe, warm and dry place to spend the night when the weather conditions turn lethally cold.

We don’t judge, we don’t preach, we simply try to help some of Sweet Home’s most vulnerable make it through the night.

This year the Nazarene church at 415 Holley Road is providing the space to host SHELTeR.

We have basic funding and enough equipment to do what needs to be done.

What we lack and need is you.  Please consider volunteering for a shift or two.  It would mean the world to someone who could use it.  Do you have five hours to share?

To help, please contact us.
