Lynetta (McLain) Corley thought she was going to celebrate her 75th birthday on June 11 at The Point restaurant with her husband Jim. Instead, 15 family members surprised her by coming to the restaurant, singing Happy Birthday, and each presented her with a rose. They also presented her with a sash and a crown that both proclaimed “75!” The Point’s wait staff, and several diners, sang along with the family and cheered “Happy Birthday!”
One generous patron anonymously picked up the tab for Lynetta and Jim’s dinner. Lynetta, who now lives in Queen Creek, Ariz., but is spending the summer in Sweet Home, was born June 11, 1947 at Langmack Hospital in Sweet Home, site of the current Sweet Home Family Medicine.
