Students from east Linn County who are pursuing a career in health care will want to check out the scholarships offered through the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation.
Applications for all scholarships are due April 30 to the foundation. Winners will be announced by June 1.
The foundation is offering the following scholarships to students with an address in east Linn County:
n The Frank Girod, MD Scholarship for students enrolled in medical school. The late Dr. Girod was a longtime family physician in Lebanon and was instrumental in establishing Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital more than 60 years ago.
n The Rachel Easton, RN Nursing Scholarship for students accepted into a nursing program. The late Rachel Easton was a longtime nurse at Samaritan’s Park Street Clinic; her family established this scholarship in her honor.
n The John and Carol Dinges Medical Scholarship for students enrolled in an entry-level health career program at Linn Benton Community College. Examples of an entry-level program include certified nursing assistant, phlebotomist and dental assistant.
Graduates of all east Linn County high schools are invited to apply.
