The Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital is seeking donors for an $11 million Surgery and Emergency expansion project at the hospital.
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has announced it will finish off the foundation’s Emergency Room Renovation Campaign with a grant of $150,000, which will be available once the foundation raises the remaining $212,000 of a $2 million fund-raising campaign.
“It’s our goal to use this generous grant to inspire others to join us in this important renovation,” said Betty Koehn, executive director of the hospital foundation. “We will receive the $150,000 grant once that amount is all we need to complete the campaign. Right now, every gift at every level gets us one step closer to receiving this ‘top-off’ grant from the Murdock Charitable Trust.”
Construction continues on this expansion, with a total cost of $11 million and completion expected in spring 2018. Dorman Construction crews are currently building new Emergency patient rooms in the hospital’s former Surgery Department space. Once those rooms are finished this summer, the existing Emergency rooms will be remodeled.
When finished, the department will have 21 private patient rooms, including two large trauma rooms, two nurse stations and a waiting room twice the size of the current waiting room.
This expansion follows the construction of the hospital’s new Surgery and Same Day Surgery Departments, featuring 14 private patient rooms, two large surgical suites and a procedure room. These departments opened last fall.
