The Huskies shut out Sisters twice, 20-0 and 16-0, beat Cottage Grove 17-2 in six innings under the 10-run rule on the road in softball last week.
“The kids were very disciplined at the plate,” said Coach Karyn Hartsook. “They took advantage of a multiple situations.”
They strung together their hits, Hartsook said, and “that was exciting to see some kids have quality at bats. I was impressed with the girls.”
Sisters had a faster pitcher, Hartsook said, but her girls were able to make adjustments and hit the ball.
The Huskies are 4-4 and third in league. They are 8-8 overall. Elmira leads the Sky-Em with a 7-1 record. Junction City is 6-1 and in second place, while Sutherlin is 3-5 and in fourth place. Sisters is 2-4, and Cottage Grove is 0-7.
Sweet Home was scheduled to host Junction City at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Sutherlin for a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday. They travel to Elmira next Tuesday.

In the first game of a doubleheader Friday, neither team was able to score in the first inning, but the Husies broke the ice in the next when Makenna Melbye tripled and then crossed home plate on a wild pitch.
In the third inning, Torree Hawken singled. She scored on a triple by Ally Tow. The Huskies went on to score six more in the third inning.
Sweet Home collected 17 hits, with Sarita Zanona and Melbye each going 3-4 with three runs, Melbye with three RBIs and Zanona with one RBI. Hawken went 3-3 with two RBIs and two runs.
Madi Barringer and Sydney Mauer each ad two hits, Barringer with a double, an RBI and two runs and Mauer with two runs.
Sunhee Bitter, Allison Miner, Tow and Ashtyn Walker each had one hit, Walker with a double, two RBIs and two runs and Tow with two RBIs and two runs.
Kylie Armstrong had one RBI.
Sisters had three hits.
Zanona pitched a complete game, giving up three hits and four walks while striking out four batters.
Amanda Smith threw for Sisters, giving up 17 hits, 11 earned runs and a walk with five strikeouts.

The Huskies kept the pressure on, with Sunhee Bitter scoring on a wild pitch and then Melbye singling to score Barringer in the first inning.
The Huskies scored 18 more in the next three innings.
At bat, Miner went 3-4, with two RBIs and four runs.
Bitter, Tow, Barringer, Melbye and Walker each hit the ball twice, Bitter with three RBIs and three runs; Tow with two RBIs, three runs and a triple; Barringer with an RBI and a run; Melbye with a double, two RBIs and a run; and Walker with a home run, an RBI and three runs.
Armstrong and Marissa Kurtz each had a hit, Armstrong with a double, two RBIs and a run and Kurtz with four runs.
For Sweet Home, Walker gave up just one hit, to Sophia Affatati, and one walk. She struck out six batters.
For Sisters, Smith gave up 15 hits, seven earned runs and three walks while striking out three.

Nine Huskies crossed the plate in the first inning against Cottage Grove on April 19.
Barringer started the scoring off when she doubled to knock in Miner and Bitter.
At bat, Miner, Tow, Barringer and Walker each had two hits, Miner with three RBIs and two runs; Tow with two RBIs and a run; Barringer with four RBIs, a double and two runs; and Walker with with a double, two RBIs and three runs.
Bitter, Zanona, Mauer, Melbye and Kurtz each had a hit, Bitter with an RBI and two runs; Zanona with a run; Mauer with an RBI and three runs; Melbye with a triple, two RBIs and a run; and Kurtz with an RBI. Hawken scored two runs.
For Cottage Grove, Kate Johns and Taylor McVey each had a hit.
Zanona was the winning pitcher, giving up two hits, one earned run and two walks with two strikeouts.
Chloe Malmstedt pitched three innings for Cottage Grove, giving up eight hits, six earned runs and four walks. Lauren Fields threw two innings, giving up five hits, two earned runs and a walk, while striking out two.
