After being in some limbo for the past couple of weeks regarding their playoff chances, three Sweet Home teams are heading to play-in games or tie-breakers for a spot in the postseason.
The football, Sweet Home finished third in the final league standing and is headed to Marshfield for the second straight year for a playoff game there. Details on that matchup will be included in our football coverage in the Oct. 26 issue.
In volleyball, the Huskies (4-6, 10-9), who are fourth in the final Sky-Em standings, are headed to Douglas (8-2, 11-6) for a rematch of their season opener, in which they beat the Trojans 3-2 on the road. That game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25.
In girls soccer, Sweet Home (5-5, 8-5-1) is tied for third with Elmira and will play an elimination game against the Falcons at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Cottage Grove.
In boys soccer, the Huskies have qualified for state for the first time in history, finishing third in the Sky-Em (4-4-2, 5-6-3).
