Sweet Home’s varsity football players got a chance to test themselves as they hosted a jamboree scrimmage with Cottage Grove and Sisters Friday night, Aug. 29, at Husky Stadium. Although there was no real scoring and teams started from the 40 yard line on offense, the Huskies scored two touchdowns to none against Cottage Grove, and went 2-1 against Sisters. XXXXXXX, Sweet Home’s Bode Nichols makes a catch under pressure from Cottage Grove’s Cade May. Sweet Home opens its season Friday night on the road at Madras. The New Era’s Fall Sports Preview will offer in-depth looks at all the fall sports in the Sept. 10 issue, as well as coverage of the season-opening contests.
