A season of growth and improvement has wrapped for the Sweet Home High School varsity volleyball team. Though the team lost against Estacada in their final match up for the year, head coach Mary Hutchins said the team should be applauded for what they’ve accomplished.

“This season the team was a real joy to coach,” Hutchins said. “We had several goals this season and though we may not have reached every single goal we set we strived to get better and grow all season long.”

The Huskies fell in the first three sets during the Tuesday, October 24 match. The team wrapped up with a 10-12 record.

“They were very welcoming to each other and supported and cheered each other on,” Hutchins said. “They were all willing to play different positions as we dealt with injury, illness, and other circumstances throughout this season.”

More than half the team is made up of seniors, setting up fresh unique opportunities for growth next season.
