In a summer slugfest, Sweet Home downed Santiam Christian 16-13 June 20.
The Huskies scored in every inning, 3,5,3,1,3, and 1 and hammered out 12 hits for the day.
Cody Miller took the win on the mound and was relieved by Donny Cliver. Losing pitcher was Baker.
At the plate, Chris Phillips went 3-3, scoring three runs and 1 RBI. He was aided by fellow sluggers Tomas Rosa, 3-4, Cody Miller, 2-2; Charles Miller with a single and four RBIs and Ronnie Garcia with a double.
For Santiam Christian, Frasier and Domingez had three hits each.
“The kids did a very good job swinging the bats,” Coach Dan Tow said. “Cody and Donny both threw well at times. We made a lot of defensive mistakes which allowed them to score quite a few runs. But, the kids kept scoring runs and fortunately we scored enough to keep the lead. The game was cut short after six innings due to darkness.”
