Husky swimmers won eight of 16 relays Friday at the Sweet Home pool to kick off the winter swim season.
Veteran Coach Doug Peargin said he was pleased with his squad’s performances.
“A week ago, we had time trials in practice and Friday, every one of our swimmers cut their time. We improved 100 percent,” Coach Peargin said.
Peargin said he focused more on younger swimmers, attempting to see how they fit into the overall scheme.
“We didn’t put some of our more experienced kids in certain spots because we wanted to see what the younger kids could do. We’ve got a lot of bodies and several of them are bringing good experience in from the swim club. We should be deep this year.”
The Huskies will host Junction City Friday in what Coach Peargin believes will be a tough matchup.
“Junction City is always tough. They were second at district last year and we were third, so it should be a good matchup,” Coach Peargin said.
